Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We're looking for an outstanding senior leader with a successful background leading teams in the development of complex space systems. This individual plans and executes strategic initiatives to advance the technology development of a significant portion of spacecraft architecture. The ideal candidate will have a history of leading teams delivering high impact innovations, with extensive subject matter experience in all aspects of solar array design from detailed trades on technology selection to prototyping development, qualification, production and successful deployment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role providing essential input to multiple disciplines and leadership team, and enables the solar array team to deliver hardware that pushes the technology envelope and drives
· Experience leading, inspiring and motivating highly technical teams in a fast paced development environment, with a proven track record of ramping up design teams. · 10+ years of experience in the design and successful build of significant spacecraft solar arrays and mechanisms and collaborating across multiple disciplines, resolving conflicting needs and requirements. · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. · Experience creating / tracking complex development schedules, managing issues and tracking bugs. · Experience specifying/justifying
