Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We're looking for an outstanding senior leader with a successful background leading teams in the delivery of mechanical solutions for Spacecraft RF payloads. This individual plans and executes mechanical design initiatives in the development of various Antenna designs for a LEO satellite constellation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role providing essential input to multiple spacecraft design disciplines and leadership team. In this role you’ll negotiate for pointing accuracy budget allocation for various RF antenna assemblies. In addition to performing technical analysis as an individual contributor, the payload mechanics manager coordinates team deliverables for requirements determination, detailed design trades, assesses potential technology suppliers, drives simulations
· Experience leading and hiring a technical team. · 10+ years of experience in the design and successful build of RF payload subsystems, space mechanisms, deployable structures, collaborating across multiple disciplines (RF, EE, Control, Dynamics, Vehicle design, Test, Operations). · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience · Experience creating / tracking complex development schedules, managing issues and tracking and resolving bugs. · Experience specifying/justifying margins and test sequences, and qualifying space systems. · Experience in driving
