Amazon is seeking a general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead a team of Vendor Managers across its physical and digital Textbooks businesses. As the Sr. Manager, Vendor Management in Textbooks, you will own the Retail P and L and will be responsible for leading and developing a high performing team, setting strategy for your category to drive profitable growth, creating strong partnerships with vendors (publishers), exploring new and emerging business models, running day-to-day operations, and delivering innovation to improve the customer experience. The candidate will have a broad skill set, with demonstrated career progression and a proven track record of delivering results. We are also seeking a candidate who possesses strong analytical acumen, superb business judgment, strategic negotiation skills, and a propensity to dive deep to solve complex problems. · Bachelor’s degree · 5+ years of relevant senior level experience in retail, operations, and/or business management/consulting · 5+ years of experience in negotiations and vendor management· MBA with 10 years relevant business experience · Analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable with complex financial data · Track record of setting strategy, delivering results, and running a large volume and high profile business · Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Strong track record
