We are looking for a smart, motivated attorney to provide legal support for Amazon’s growing retail business. You’ll be an integral part of the business team you support, giving input on business and strategy in addition to providing legal counsel on regulatory matters and commercial deals, resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly. You will help your business team launch new features and product categories.
· Strong academic credentials including a J.D. degree from a top law school and membership in one state bar is required. · 4+ years of legal experience as a transactional, litigation, or regulatory legal counsel. · 3+ years of experience in a top national or international law firm is required. · Some ability to travel as needed.· Prior experience working in a highly regulated industry. · A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience is a plus. · Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations. · Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional
