Amazon is looking for a team-oriented, highly analytical and passionate business leader to join the Sporting Goods team. The Senior Vendor Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a dynamic business for our Sports category. Within this role, the individual will set the strategy for key brands and vendors , establish and maintain strong vendor partnerships and manage the category P and L. In addition, this position is expected to provide leadership across categories - driving systems, process, and customer experience improvements that will benefit all customers at amazon.com. The successful Senior Vendor Manager must be able to: · Define a strategy for the business and break it down into actionable goals · · Understand drivers and opportunities of the category P and L · · Manage relationships with key strategic brands / vendors · · Institute best practices and processes which can be replicated across all categories · · Lead change with cross-functional teams, and communicate
· Bachelor’s degree · · Superior analytical skills and willingness to roll up sleeves to get it done · · Ability to think systemically and master different retail systems in use on the job · · Proficient with Excel and Word · · Polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating · · 4+ years’ experience in related field · MBA or advanced finance degree · · Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development · · High threshold for working and thriving in an ambiguous, fast paced environment – figuring it out, owning it,
