Job Description Data Center Global Services (DCGS) is looking for a Herndon-based technical writer to develop process documentation and writing skills training to support data center operations globally. This writer will deliver training as part of a global training program designed to improve employee English-language business writing and procedural writing skills. DCGS is responsible for building and maintaining the electrical plants, cooling plants, and physical spaces that support Amazon’s servers. The technical writing team plays a vital role in keeping data centers up and running by making sure the methods and procedures that engineers and technicians follow are clearly and completely described and steps are easy to follow. Key responsibilities include the following: · Delivering high-quality operations, process, and procedure documentation to engineers, electricians, and mechanics · Developing and delivering in-person and remote training to data center staff around the world · Working

Basic Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field · A minimum of five years in a technical writing role · Experience developing and facilitating training · Experience writing and editing technical documentation for an engineering community · Experience interviewing experts, such as mechanics, electricians, or engineers, to elicit essential content Preferred Qualifications · Demonstrated facilitation skills with the ability to engage adult audiences and present content clearly using examples and analogies to achieve learning objectives · Demonstrated
