Amazon Publishing is seeking an inventive, market-savvy Senior Acquisition Editor with a passion for authors, readers, and reading to acquire exceptional books for Thomas and Mercer, our Mystery, Thriller, and True Crime imprint. You will be responsible for acquiring a wide range of projects, working with marketing, publicity, production, design, and author relations teams to deliver quality books and world-class author experiences. This is a multi-faceted job in a start-up environment that requires flexibility, agility, and a sense of humor. Responsibilities include: - Identifying, evaluating, and developing submissions and proposals for Thomas and Mercer, including monitoring trend and sales data - Acquiring exceptional titles and managing them through the production process to publication (working closely with internal teams) - Collaborating with authors to develop their work - Developing and maintaining relationships with literary agents, including negotiating deals and managing contracts
