Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving digital content and devices business. The attorney will negotiate and provide legal guidance on strategic relationships, and partner with their business clients to develop, market, and distribute cutting-edge products and services worldwide, helping to shape and launch new strategic initiatives. The attorney will: · Support business leaders as lead counsel on strategic deals · Structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements such as distribution, licensing, marketing, and technology agreements · Counsel the business team on a range of intellectual property, consumer law, technology, digital media, privacy, and regulatory matters, and provide day-to-day advice · Resolve issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries Some travel may be required. · Strong academic credentials including a J.D. degree and membership in one state bar is required · 4+ years of legal experience as a transactional legal counsel in a top national or international law firm · 1-2 years of experience in technology and commercial transactions · In-house experience is a plus · Ability to work independently while also contributing successfully to cross-functional teams · Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines · Strong communication, analytical and computer skills · Sound judgment even in ambiguous
