Microsoft's Patent Team has 2 immediate openings for Portfolio Development Patent Attorneys.
In this role, the ideal candidate will support Microsoft's Surface or Cloud and AI Businesses on their patent filing strategy, including but not limited to engaging with the business clients to harvest ideas and determine which patentable ideas to file. In addition, the candidate will assist with risk mitigation and licensing support, as well as other related projects. You will actively manage and determine the strategy for a significant portion of Microsoft's pending portfolio. - Candidates must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or international equivalent. - Active License and in good standing to practice law in at least one state is required. - Candidates must be registered as Patent Attorney at the USPTO. - A minimum of four years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in patent law is required. - A technical background in computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer science is also preferred.
