Microsoft HoloLens Team is continuing to revolutionize consumer electronic devices. We are currently seeking an experienced diode laser and LED characterization expert to develop next generation display systems for the HoloLens Mixed Reality devices. The Electro-Optical Engineer will need to have multiple years of device development, test, and evaluation experience and will be responsible for the evaluation, specification, and integration of optical sources used for Near Eye Display systems.

The Senior Device Engineer will be responsible for managing the test and evaluation of visible light (red, green and blue) laser devices and other light sources from a variety of suppliers. In additional to evaluation the engineer will perform physics-based modeling of laser, LED, and other light sources. The Senior Electro-Optical Test Engineer will also be responsible for equipment procurement, test plan definition, and device characterization of the red, green and blue optical sources. The Senior Electro-Optical Test Engineer will work closely with key vendors and OEM's to test and evaluate
Required 3 – 10 years of experience in electro-optical device test, evaluation, and characterization. MS or PhD in Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering Experience in time and frequency domain characterization of electrical and optical devices. Experience in using electrical and optical test equipment (i.e. power supplies, spectrometers, high-speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc) for the test and evaluation of high speed electrical components. Preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in analyzing illumination and imaging optical systems. Experience in writing
