Microsoft HoloLens Team is continuing to revolutionize consumer electronic devices. We are expanding a team of experienced device product developers, working in a collaborative environment to redefine experiences with epic technology innovation. We are developing ground-breaking hardware, software and experiences across computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, image and video processing, networking and graphics. We will transform our ideas into reality through shipping first-to-market products. The Microsoft HoloLens Team is currently looking for an opto-mechanical engineer to complete the opto-mechanical designs in Redmond. Primary responsibilities involve working with a team of optical engineers and scientists to bring their designs to functioning hardware. It is preferred for the candidate to be experienced in high volume optics development.

Role would be to design subsystems that require integration of mechanical and optical components. Design optical mechanical systems; including fixtures, mounting, and optical models to support rest of ME product team. Design high tolerance opto-mechanical parts and subassemblies for use in a commercial, high volume, mobile consumer product. Clarify and define optics requirements and translate those into mechanical requirements, including understanding sensitivities and impacts. Collaborate with partners (especially Optics Engineering, ID, and other Mechanical engineers) to design and integrate
Required +4 years of optical-mechanical development experience, including a strong hands on background with opto-mechanical assemblies including automation and equipment/fixture design for assembly of optical components.
