Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon's legal team. We are looking for a talented senior attorney to support Amazon's work on M and A, strategic investments, and warrants. You will be part of a legal team that advises the Corporate Development team and other businesses across the organization on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments, and warrants worldwide. In this role, you will serve as the lead attorney responsible for counseling various businesses on structuring, negotiating, and consummating a broad range of M and A and investment transactions. Duties include drafting and participating in the review and negotiation of transaction documents associated with M and A, strategic investments, and warrants, overseeing due diligence, working collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams, and hiring and managing outside counsel. In addition, in this role you will manage and develop other talented attorneys. The successful candidate must
· Strong academic credentials including a Juris Doctor degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar · 10+ years of experience as a corporate transactions attorney focused on M and A and investments · At least three years of top law firm experience · A team player who can effectively work with and manage other attorneys and legal professionals. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly and simply explain complex ideas · Sound and practical business judgment, as well as common sense and a good sense of humor· Experience with M and A and investments
