The Amazon Devices-Demand Planning team is seeking an outstanding Research Scientist with strong analytical and communication skills to help Amazon manage demand forecasting and supply optimization for the entire Amazon device family of products and accessories. We develop scalable and robust state-of-the-art algorithms that involve learning from large amounts of data, such as customer engagement data (impression, clicks, transactions, etc.), product features (product attributes, price, promotion, etc.), merchandising activities, relevant products and users, in order to forecast the demand for Amazon digital product portfolio. This role is central to the continued growth of Amazon Device division as we have grown from the first Kindle E-Reader to a vast portfolio of Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, E-Reader, Ring and many more to come. With better forecasts we drive down supply chain costs, enabling the offer of lower prices and better in-stock selection for our customers. You will have an opportunity

· Master/PhD degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field and 2+ years of industry experience. · 2+ years of relevant working experience in an analytical role involving data extraction, cleaning, manipulation ((e.g. SQL, Hadoop/Hive). · 2+ years of experience with building, iterating and validating statistical models (e.g. R, Python).· Experience with processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities of data. · Experience with causal inference, applied time series modeling or machine learning forecasting applications. · Fluency
