The global accounting organization supports Amazon’s financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities. As well as global business launches for Amazon’s consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. This position will be responsible for supporting accounting-related pre- and post-close activities of mergers and acquisitions (M and A) and minority equity investments for our financial reporting and tax compliance purposes. This position will be responsible for representing accounting throughout the M and A process, working with cross-department business leaders and functional accounting teams to ensure a seamless integration of the acquisition or investment into the company’s financial statements. An ideal candidate must be able to research complex technical accounting concepts and prepare technical accounting position papers. Previous experience with business combination and equity
· Degree in accounting, finance or related field · 8+ years of relevant experience · 2+ years of management leadership experience · Experience with valuations of business entities, intangible assets, purchase price allocations, goodwill, long lived asset impairment, financial analysis, or research · CPA or CFA (not required) · Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients · Solid understanding of financial statement analysis and financial modeling · Efficient written and oral communication skills · Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up · A
