Microsoft has assembled a talented and diverse team to create the world's first scalable quantum system. Our full-stack approach involves exciting innovations at every level, from the physics of the quantum realm all the way up to global services. Our quantum program has opportunities to change the world of computing and help solve some of humankind's currently-unsolvable problems. We're looking for an experienced Program Manager to help us expand the reach of our community to include new partnerships with government, NGOs, academic institutions and other companies. You'd be a great fit for this role if you have experience building and maintaining deep partnerships around technical content. Program Management veterans from engineering teams who have worked end to end, from term sheets and contract negotiations to product/services deployment and user feedback, will enjoy this role. A background in physics, computer science, or equivalent is a big plus in this role, but not a prerequisite;

Key responsibilities: Progress Reporting - Deliver reliable score-carding and reporting that provides program owners and leaders information to drive data-driven decision making for dependencies. Great Partnerships – Interface with many partner teams across quantum research, software engineering, services and external partners. Schedule - Create and drive a realistic schedule and commitments based upon strategy, available resources, and demonstrated capacity of the team.
A successful first year in this position will feature: Leveraging your interpersonal and collaboration skills to deliver results across a global team. Strategic planning, execution, relationship development, and working with project leaders. Knowledge and experience working with internal quantum experts and external partners. Solid technical depth and analytical/problem solving. Ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, while driving clarity.
