Description
This position leads a team of program managers across North America responsible for design, construction and renovation within operating corporate facilities as well as a program geared toward construction of specialty and highly technical spaces. Projects under this leadership position range in size from $5k-$100MM+. These project types consist of new builds, expansions, retrofits, and small adjustments.Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of seasoned design & construction managers, each responsible for a portfolio of projects within a territory and a team of design and construction managers owning the projects from inception to completion
- This leader must operate on both strategic and tactical levels, simultaneously acting as a visionary, an internal ambassador, analyst, solutions architect, and implementer.
- Develop and deliver consistent strategies for supporting and leading project teams with standardized planning and due diligence at scale, implementation of construction best practices, and ensuring design decisions are made at the appropriate level.
- Hold a high bar for speed, quality and frugality on all projects delivered in the portfolio by setting and maintaining high expectations along with clear and efficient paths for exceptions to encourage and enable judgement calls and ingenuity.
- Collaborate with leadership and other stakeholders to determine objectives for the program, scope of initiatives and projects, and prioritization of incoming project requests.
Qualifications
- 10+ years successful professional experience required in one or more of the following areas: construction or engineering project management, real estate development, or relevant architecture/design experience- Comfortable with legal terms and structures for standard commercial contracts and leases
- Experience managing multiple projects across numerous sites, and regions
- Ability to communicate complex project execution strategy and plans clearly to internal and external stakeholders and lead diverse groups of staff and contractors
- Keen understanding of sourcing/procurement, facilities operations, vendor management and customer service
Extended Qualifications
- BA or BS degree, OR alternative to a degree, an additional 10+ years of relevant professional experience- The optimal candidate is an experienced, persistent professional who will excel within an entrepreneurial, innovative culture – providing vision, leadership, mentorship and communication to a geographically diverse team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $221,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
