The Microsoft HoloLens Team is continuing to revolutionize consumer electronic devices. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented electro-optical device design engineer to develop opto-electronic devices for next generation display systems. The Electro-Optical Device Engineer will need to demonstrate the ability to generate high fidelity models, work with partners to design and fabricate prototypes, and characterize performance.
Model, characterize and optimize visible Red, Green, and Blue diode lasers Design and characterize optical modulators and wavelength tuners Work with partners to design and prototype monolithic and hybrid solutions Conceive of and implement new device and system architectures to enable revolutionary improvements in display performance, power consumption, and size The position will require strong communication skills including written documentation and verbal personation communication to the product development team and senior management. The Electro-Optical Device Engineer will work closely with
Required Electrical and optical device test, measurement, specification and characterization experience Experience in using electrical test equipment (i.e. high-speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers) for the test and evaluation of high-speed electrical components Experience in analyzing optical systems, including: lasers, modulators and micro-optics. MS or PhD in Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on electro-optic device design Preferred Proven track record designing electro-optic devices in GaN and/or GaAs material systems Experience performing mathematical analysis and simulations
