Come join the Signal Integrity team here at Microsoft! We design and validate Xbox, Surface and more devices for high-speed interfaces such as Memory (DDR), Serial Buses (USB, DisplayPort, HDMI), PCIe, MIPI, etc. delivering functionality and quality in products through various simulation, design and validation activities. In this specific role, you will provide a key function for the Signal Integrity Team through definitive simulation expertise. You will be responsible for design and simulation of high-speed interfaces of an exciting, cutting-edge family of products. You will work closely with the design team to schedule, prioritize, and perform simulation tasks optimizing the product design for function and performance. You will tackle challenging design problems and utilize simulation tools to guide complex designs toward success.

Managing Signal and Power Integrity design, simulation and validation activities through product development cycles. Determining Signal and Power Integrity design requirements for products. Performing Signal Integrity simulations for multiple high-speed bus standards on each product. This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, as well as a good understanding of the passing criterion for each interface. Performing Power Integrity simulations, such as DC drop and IC decoupling for PDN. Performing PCB schematic and layout reviews. Creating actionable recommendations
The ideal candidate should have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, and 3+ years of high-volume consumer electronics experience as a Signal Integrity engineer. You must have: Solid understanding of Signal and Power Integrity fundamentals. Experience with signal integrity simulation tools, such as HSPICE, HyperLynx, etc. Experience with power integrity tools, such as PowerDC, OptimizePI and SIWave Working knowledge of serial channel analysis and simulation tools like QCD, ANSYS Designer, etc. Understanding of both serial and parallel high-speed interfaces, such as DDR3/4, USB2/3, DP, HDMI, SATA,
