Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and seasoned senior user experience designer to join the Amazon Athena and Amazon EMR. This senior user experience designer will have a significant impact on our business as they contribute to the design direction for both of these services. Amazon Athena is an interactive query service that makes it easy to analyze data in Amazon S3 using standard SQL. Athena is serverless, so there is no infrastructure to manage, and you pay only for the queries that you run.In addition, the senior user experience designer will be expected to be a design thought leader on the team. Amazon EMR provides a managed Hadoop framework that makes it easy, fast, and cost-effective to process vast amounts of data across dynamically scalable Amazon EC2 instances. You can also run other popular distributed frameworks such as Apache Spark, HBase, Presto, and Flink in EMR, and interact with data in other AWS data stores such as Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB. · 8+ years of industry experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar design-related role. · Experience working in direct collaboration with product leadership, development managers, and cross-functional stakeholders. · Experience creating prototypes or wire-frames for complex web applications and/or workflows. · An online portfolio demonstrating samples of design deliverables (personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes) is required to apply for this role. · Strong verbal communication and presentation skills. · Bachelor's degree or commensurate
