We are looking for a Senior Manager to Support the Global Data Center (GDCO) Americas region, on behalf of the Compliance, Assurance, Risk, Environment, Safety & Security (CARES2) team. Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) is the substantive focus of the role but this is expected to evolve to include the broader remit of the CARES2 team, including compliance, ethics and risk management. Specifically, the Manager will be responsible for supporting implementation of EHS programs across the GDCO Americas region, including, US, Canada and South America. He or she will be a member of the MCIO EHS Leadership team and will be directly involved in the development and implementation of the EHS strategy and tactical implementation initiatives.  He or she will partner with the team supporting EHS Design and Construction to ensure that our EHS programs are aligned and effectively executed across the MCIO value chain. The Regional Manager will lead a team of sub-regional and data center-based field support professionals.   This is a highly influential position reporting to the General Manager of CARES2 and the role holder will be a member of the CARES2 Leadership Team.

 

The Sr. Manager must be an experienced technical professional in the safety and/or environment management field, with a history of success in implementing processes at a large, multiple sites. This role will include the prevention of serious incidents through high risk activity management processes, emergency response planning, safety in datacenter operations, and construction/contractor safety. This role will be responsible for monitoring risks, trending of leading/lagging metrics and develops reports and metrics that will be used to drive accountability and action. 

 

 The role holder will:

 

    • Monitor, interpret and communicate summaries of standards and regulatory requirements to assure compliance and proactive management of risk.
    • Establishes safety and health mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to track/communicate/drive progress. 
    • Analyses safety metrics and communicates results to leadership to drive action and accountability.
    •      Work with leaders, staff and contractors at all levels to implement effective solutions. 
    • Drive a standardized and harmonized approach across the Campus to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. 
    • Present topical information/metrics on a regular basis to site leadership teams.


Qualifications


 

Education:   A University/Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related in science/engineering discipline.

 

Experience:  A minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in EHS is required, with demonstrated knowledge and experience controlling the broad spectrum of risks across multiple sites.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong record of accomplishment preventing injuries, developing/implementing robust processes and management systems, and in building productive collaborative relationships with internal/external business partners.  Experience managing Environment, Health and Safety in large-scale datacenters is preferred.

 

Experience in managing teams of 3 or more individuals is preferred.
