Core Services Engineering (CSE) builds the critical products and services that Microsoft runs on. The Principal Research Lead position will be critical to helping build this empathy, and a user-centered approach for this organization. Your work will accelerate this newly formed research team's reputation as world-class, by delivering creative, agile, and strategic research outcomes which directly impact the business.

Key responsibilities: Lead a team who conducts diverse product research activities spanning generative to evaluative; foster and facilitate agile research practices and methodologies Influential UX research leader with experience managing multiple projects, and delivering a strategic research plan/priority for those areas Partnering closely with key stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Business Partners and Leadership to establish trust, and alignment for maximum research influence Deep hands on analytical and synthesis skills (both qualitative and quantitative) with a proven ability to turn
Knowledge, experience and skills: 10+ years in user experience research, design research, product research or equivalent Minimum of 3 years managing and leading people Well established portfolio of research techniques from ethnography, field studies, interviews, evaluative usability studies, concept validation, user journey mapping, surveys, scorecards and competitive analysis Influential leader who can develop key partnerships with stakeholders and business leaders Experience with developing research programs, scorecards and outcomes that have resulted in a strong product strategy and impact Expertise
