Amazon Imaging Science’s vision is simple: We want to provide the best product imagery in the industry to empower customers to make informed purchasing decisions. Through technology, we seek to constantly increase the quality of photos, videos, and other visual media, to lower the cost of acquisition, and to create innovative imaging products. We apply a mix of workflows, Image Processing, Computer Vision and Machine Learning, and we blend that with our in-house developed robotic capture devices. We partner with many different teams across Amazon, and are frequently involved in “Special Projects” to bring new innovations to market. We are building a world-class team exploring exciting opportunities combining elements from both traditional imaging and 3D content creation. We are seeking an Applied Scientist with a background in Computer Vision who has experience in 3D reconstruction algorithms and modern multi-view geometry techniques. Our ideal candidate thrives on solving hard problems
· Doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field · Research background focusing on computer vision, 3D reconstruction, and/or image processing · Research experience in ML and Deep Learning for 2D and 3D content · 10+ years industry experience · Track record of successfully collaborating with engineering on cutting-edge projects in a corporate environment · Experience working within a product development team · Proficiency in Python and Java· Prior knowledge of Amazon Web Services (EC2, SQS, DynamoDB, etc.) · Experience working on content authoring and/or 3D systems
