Amazon is looking for an applied scientist to help build next generation models in the Inventory Management Systems in the Supply Chain Optimization Technology group. We are a group of Research Scientists who answer questions on Amazon’s inventory placement and control- both strategic and tactical. Our research powers core retail functions in 11+ countries, supporting +$80 billion revenue. As an Applied Scientist in our group, you will work with other research scientists, software engineers, product managers and business teams to understand the current challenges in our inventory systems, map these challenges to scientific models, innovate solutions to address those problems using techniques in Machine Learning (ML) and Optimization and to pick the right tools to deploy these solutions at scale. You will be a part of shaping the future ML roadmap of Supply Chain at Amazon. Your work will be visible to the highest business leaders in the Supply Chain Optimization Technology organization

· Advanced Degree in machine learning, computer science or a related field · 5+ years of combined industry and academic experience · Practical experience building, testing and deploying ML models · Expert knowledge in at least one of following fields: machine learning techniques such as reinforcement learning, anomaly detection, active learning · Skilled with Java, C++, or other programming language, as well as with R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language · Strong communication, influencing and partnership skills · Ability to navigate conflicting priorities and ambiguous problem space(s)
