AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. Key job responsibilities
Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
A day in the life
•Specialist Solution Architects will engage as expert practitioners with a select set of customers to ensure first-hand knowledge of customer use cases and challenges.
•Demonstrates thought leadership and is able to credibly represent AWS at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
•Specialist Solution Architects serve as a focal point for representing voice and needs of the customer, working with internal customer facing teams and product/service teams to influence the product roadmap.
•Responsibility for leading initiatives to scale innovation and modernization for SAP on AWS, through expertise and guidance, creating new technical and go to market content.
•Specialist Solution Architects have responsibility to maintain expertise across their entire domain, and to consider/explore adjacent areas (e.g. other domains, industry verticals) to anticipate future use cases and opportunities.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Extended Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
