The Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) team is innovating on behalf of global sellers everywhere to power maximum supply chain optimization, cost savings, and growth for their on and off-Amazon sales channels worldwide. This strategic product is at the center of Supply Chain by Amazon, a key initiative to offer Amazon’s logistics solutions to sellers to help them streamline their supply chain, save cost, and grow their business by easily reaching millions of customers in marketplaces worldwide.AWD’s vision is to become the global bulk storage and distribution of choice for sellers globally, by creating a white glove, best in class experience that transforms what it means for sellers to work with Amazon to become an enjoyable experience at every step of the process. Not only will managing their inventory and sales channels be easy to do, but they’ll have complete confidence in their end-to-end supply chain with 360 transparency into how their products are performing, where their inventory is, and how they can save cost while growing their business exponentially. AWD will do this by building a suite of loveable experiences that power the umbrella suite of supply chain solutions under the Supply Chain by Amazon brand.
The AWD organization is looking for Principal, UX Design leader to drive AWD’s UX design and research vision through bar-raising product experiences across seller central, supply chain portal, and marketing experiences. This leader will partner with cross-organizational L7 and L8 UX leaders across Selling Partner Services and Rembrandt, and drive thought leadership for selling partner experiences that range from small businesses to enterprises. This experienced UX leader will lead a small team of UX designers, researcher, and copywriter, create internal UX mechanisms across UX research, product development, and cross-organizational workstreams. This person will be the face of AWD UX for internal stakeholders and engage with all levels of leadership on a weekly basis. This role is highly visible and will be responsible for driving several S-Team goals through the next couple years with the ability to make tremendous impact for Amazon’s selling partners.
Key job responsibilities
- Design simple and delightful new experiences for sellers that drive adoption
- Define and evangelize UX vision
- Create a UX team, processes, and culture from the ground up
- Drive thought leadership with UX, product, and engineering leaders across ambiguous customer problems.
- Work directly with sellers and selling partners
- Create simple and intuitive solutions to easily understand data and insights
- Lead a small (3-4 person) team
- Collaborate with product, UX research, engineering, marketing, and designers on other teams
- Create design intake and review mechanisms for internal and external stakeholders, and leadership
- Quickly and iteratively create wireframes and higher fidelity designs
- Be a champion for user-centered design and the seller experience
- Present design work to stakeholders and executive leadership
- Develop UX best practices to leverage across cross-functional product development organizations

Qualifications
- Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design- Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution
- 12+ years of design experience
- Extensive experience autonomously leading workstreams in ambiguous environments with executive audiences
Extended Qualifications
- Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Keynote, and InVision
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $244,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
