You will partner with business and technology teams to develop scalable and innovative solutions that ingest data from diverse sources, into data structures and technologies relevant for making financial decisions, and expose it using tools that drive insights and actions.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will focus on our ability to deliver for our business partners, understanding the needs and requirements, plus anticipating future trends that will serve their needs. You will excel at driving results, being able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints while weighing value and time to market. You will be involved in defining or reviewing the systems-level technical design of your projects and balance near term business need with long term implications for Amazon. You will rationalize technical requirements and business priorities in cross-functional teams. You will manage cross-functional communication to ensure all business and technical stakeholder’s needs are aligned and apprised of program progress, risks, timelines, and weigh in on high judgement decisions.

A day in the life

As an engineering team that supports the central finance team within Amazon, our primary customer will always be our CFO. A Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) will partner with engineers, other TPMs, Product Managers and senior management to help create world-class solutions. We're looking for people who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, demonstrate a high degree of product ownership, and want to have fun while they make history. The ideal TPM is a creative, demonstrated leader with superior analytical abilities and an expeditious drive to deliver results. This opportunity requires deep technical, problem-solving and communication skills.

About the team

GFT Data Services team is the data engineering team within Corp FP&A. On our team, we enjoy a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. As part of that, this role would be part of a team that is responsible for Company’s enterprise-wide financial planning & analytics environment. The data flowing through our platform directly contributes to decision-making by our CFO and all levels of finance leadership. Qualifications

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules



Extended Qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
