Do you want to support a leading Specialized Sales team focused on helping customers, AWS, and partners to build compelling business cases to move to AWS, take actions to drive the most value from their AWS investment, and measure the value realized?AWS Global Sales Compensation (GSC) organization is seeking a Sr. Sales Compensation Specialist to support the GSC Governance and SPIF and Incentive policies. This includes partnering with GSC Operations, AWS Legal and AWS Human Resources to ensure GSC policies include all details related to sales compensation plan designs and the business and system processes used to support the designs for AWS Sales teams globally. You will provided valuable business insights into AWS polices and GSC business processes which will optimize your productivity to better serve our customers. The Sr. Sales Compensation Specialist plays a critical role in establishing operational excellence and making important business decisions for the organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Create and manage mechanisms to optimize core sales operations functions, such as goals/ KPI reporting, variable compensation, revenue flow, and executive escalations and approvals.
- Become subject matter expert on AWS policies, GSC policies, and other key metrics used to run the business. Including looking for commonalities across our stakeholders’ business needs, and leveraging automation to grow our capacity in line with the growth of the business.
- Advocate for our sales reps and managers with our cross-functional stakeholders and peer operations organizations.
- Support the GSC Policy and Governance team to drive improvements to policies, reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data.
- Drive simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, and communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally.
A day in the life
Daily activities include diving deep into legal documentation to ensure our policies align to country and state laws. Collaborating with our upstream partners to ensure their policies align with GSC.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
