You will be responsible for store operations and metrics that include sales, labor, customer satisfaction, productivity, and safety, among others. You will play a vital role in maintaining a vibrant store culture based on customer obsession, trust, respect, continuous learning, safety, and fun.

Senior Retail Managers are skilled operators who are also comfortable with ambiguity and are experienced in leading large teams to deliver exceptional results. Senior Retail Managers demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent ownership, the ability to meet deadlines, a willingness to learn new things, and a commitment to the customer and employee experience.

Senior Retail Managers typically lead our most complex store concepts and locations. They also train and mentor new retail managers, complete special projects for their region, and own an area of excellence (e.g. safety, inventory management, people development) for the Amazon Go store network, partnering with corporate support teams to improve excellence in the field.

- Manage a team of retail leads and associates, including hiring and onboarding new team members, directing work, managing performance, providing regular feedback, and supporting career development and employee growth.

- Manage and delegate daily operations to drive exceptional results, including executing standard operating procedures, managing inventory control and merchandising, identifying areas of improvement, implementing solutions, and providing ongoing training where needed.

- Own the customer experience for your locations, maintaining a strong store culture built on Customer Obsession and Amazon’s Leadership Principles.

- Deep dive key performance indicators to drive performance metrics, manage inputs that deliver results, and convey performance results for regular business reviews.

- Create and communicate an effective weekly labor schedule to ensure the right amount of labor in the right place at the right time, considering allocated labor hours, Amazon labor guidelines, and applicable labor laws.

- Spend and prioritize time across multiple stores and invest in development of direct reports to ensure strong leadership in your stores. Follow up on delegated tasks to ensure successful completion.

- Create and maintain a culture of engagement by routinely listening and responding to feedback from associates and customers.

- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment to ensure the security of all employees, customers, and products.

- Respond to escalations and provide guidance to associates on what issues should be escalated or resolved on their own.

- This also includes responding to after hours escalations, i.e. temperature or security alarms, emergency situations, etc.

- Understand customer traffic patterns and merchandise sales trends. Escalate customer and business needs to the regional leader and corporate support teams to maximize your stores’ sales.

- Execute, model, and train effective merchandising, inventory management, and standards for cleanliness and quality of service.

- Own the talent in your stores and build local ongoing pipelines for existing and future hiring needs. Train and develop talented leaders and associates to support the broader organization.

- Commute and/or travel to store locations, as required.

- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
