We are looking for creative, customer-obsessed, curious, and highly entrepreneurial leaders to join our team.Amazon is seeking a Design Manager to create and sustain design direction for seasonal programs, guiding a team of designers to develop impactful work that delights our customers across all channels. In this role, you will leverage experimentation and performance data to inform your approach. You will mentor designers and collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners. The ideal candidate will exhibit an exceptional design eye, collaborative mindset, high judgement, bias for action, ability to deliver results, be detail-oriented and be comfortable with ambiguity. You will develop best-in-class layouts and visuals that support organizational objectives while partnering with marketing teams to ensure that designs meet our customer and business needs. This role provides a great opportunity to make an outsized impact by collaborating closely with talented marketing, business, and tech leaders to unlock cross-category discovery.
Key job responsibilities
1. Understand and respond to performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative designs.
2. Understand usability principles that help drive successful design.
3. Work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from stakeholders.
4. Proactively solve problems on behalf of the team, seeking clarification when faced with ambiguity and escalating as necessary
5. Communicate with key stakeholders internally and externally in a spirit of collaboration, building strong relationships, and articulating complex issues/problems effectively.
6. Oversee design direction for seasonal programs across email, site, push, paid, social and homepage.
7. Mentor designers through design reviews and cultivate a culture of continuous learning, improvement and self-sufficiency.
8. Deliver best-in-class visual design creative.

Qualifications
- Experience art directing motion designers, illustrators, writers and content creators- Experience partnering with technical partners for design implementation
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong visual communication, a deep understanding of typography, color, print and digital executions, and great user-centered design solutions.
- 8+ years of relevant experience with visual design.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly proficient in Figma, Adobe Suite, and related design and production software.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as visual communications or graphic design. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects.
- Understanding of the web production process; familiarity with post-production retouching.
Extended Qualifications
- Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dynamic advertising solutions- Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles
- Has retail experience, and digital creative experience.
- Experience in driving compelling creative strategy and execution at in-house creative team.
- Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business or the technology
- Collaboration with peers, partners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cohesive deliverables through the entire design process.
- Ability to drive the design process by independently defining requirements, scoping projects and prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to deliver results in a fast paced environment.
- Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery
- Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)
- Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
