Range: $151,200 - $204,600

Description

We are looking for an exceptionally motivated, talented, and experienced Senior Accessibility Product Manager with excellent customer obsession and a track record of innovation in developing accessible user interfaces, to join the Trust, Privacy, and Accessibility team within Devices & Services.

Key job responsibilities

- You will work with teams across Devices & Services to raise the bar on the accessibility of our offerings, including inventing new ways for customers with disabilities to interact with our diverse set of devices and services offerings.

- You will maintain and raise the bar on our internal accessibility standards.

- You will lead projects staffed both with our accessibility engineering team, as well as those staffed by engineering partner teams within Devices & Services, to deliver accessibility solutions to ship across the half a billion devices Amazon has shipped over the past 15 years.

- This role requires a high degree of autonomy, drive, and the ability to problem solve.

- You will be well suited to this role if you are customer-focused, resourceful, team-oriented, and have an ability to work independently under time constraints.

- You will work and influence internal and external stakeholders, manage cross functional programs, and be able to help prioritize amidst ambitious goals and timelines.

- Review product roadmaps across Devices & Services, and drafting proposals for how to best address accessibility in those roadmaps

- Participate in accessibility initiatives such as our Accessibility Bar Raiser program and Trust by Design accessibility reviews

- Draft and present specific proposals for new accessibility features to leadership

- Work with user research to better understand user needs and desires, and how well particular designs and approaches are accepted by customers

- Work with accessibility engineering and prototyping to explore accessible user interaction models

- Work with QA to provide guidance on issue priorities

- Maintain and enhance internal accessibility requirements and FAQs

A day in the life

In this role, no two days are the same — and that’s by design. You will spend a good part of your time engaging with a wide range of partner teams across product, UX, research, engineering, legal, and other product teams to gather insights, clarify accessibility requirements, and uncover both issues and opportunities.

You’ll participate in regular brainstorming sessions to shape new ideas, solve complex accessibility problems, and design fixes that address not just immediate needs, but also set us up for long-term success.

You will meet with customers at disability conferences throughout the year, representing Amazon and our accessibility offerings, and learning about what customers love, what could work better, and what they wish we might offer.

About the team

You would be joining Amazon’s largest, and longest tenured, accessibility team. Over the past 12 years, their work was recognized by American Foundation for the Blind with their Helen Keller Achievement award, by Disability:IN with their Marketplace Innovator award, and by FCC Chairman Ajit Pai with the FCC Chairman’s Award for Advancements in Accessibility (among others). Your colleagues bring over a century of combined experience in the field, and include Amazon’s sole MacArthur Fellow, and two of the only three people to be recognized twice with Helen Keller Achievement Awards for their work.
