As a successful WAN Service Engineer your performance objectives include: Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities Ensure Outside Plant (OSP) optical fiber delivery Optical fiber extension from Point of Entry (POE) to designated rack Fusion splicing into optical equipment Fiber Characterization and Remediation coordination OSA (Optical Spectrum Analysis) Fiber Cleaning coordination Optical fiber test results analysis for Microsoft's metro, regional fabric, and long-haul networks are delivered adhering to Microsoft Standards. Basic Qualifications: At least three years of experience required in datacenter operations and/or network/optical engineering or photonics. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or Equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Strong Project Management skills, and critical thinking. Ability to read and understand High Level Network design documentation College or university degree in related discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) Knowledge of: SQL, Kusto, NoSQL, Python, JavaScript, Perl, TL1, SNMP, and Optical Element Management
