Operational Engineering team AWS Relational Database
At the AWS Relational Database Service (RDS), we manage one of the largest fleets of relational databases on Earth, and are always working to be better at it. The RDS Operational Engineering team owns the charter to scale, automate and operationalize RDS, and we are heavily investing in automation, refactoring and holding a high bar for operational excellence through better software. Do you like doing things well once, rather that several times? Does the sight of manual procedures cause you to twitch and then automate it in your favorite language? Do you like making thousands of hosts dance to the tune of your scalable automation? When others describe you, do they like to use words like “build/optimize/tinker”? · 5+ years industry experience in a Software Engineering, Systems Development, SRE or NRE role. · Experience with being responsible for and automating large production fleets of 1000+ hosts. · Firm grasp of networking fundamentals. · Firm grasp of Linux OS fundamentals. · Good written English (Amazon is a doc writing culture).· Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or a related Science and Engineering discipline. · RDBMS experience would be helpful, but not essential.
