small tight-knit team Software Development Engineer
The Software Development Engineer will work on an initiative to improve engagement within digital content (i.e. apps, games and movies, TV shows and more). The development engineer will have the opportunity to build a service and set the infrastructure for years to come. You will lead features, system design, architecture and implement services with ultra-high performance and high reliability. This will include challenging problems involving large scale data engineering, machine learning, AWS, mobile and IoT. You will work in a small tight-knit team and directly interact with the product manager and leadership to scope, design and deliver new features iteratively. You will also have a chance to tap into principal engineers within Amazon to continue to learn and grow. If you are passionate about building data-driven systems and services and enjoy the mobile apps, gaming and the IoT space, then this role is for you. You should be somebody who likes owning software services, rapidly prototyping
· BS in Computer Science or related · 5+ years professional experience in software development · Experience with building highly concurrent and scalable distributed services · Programming experience in a modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Perl · Knowledge of big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Druid, etc.)· MS in Computer Science or related · Understanding of SQL, NoSQL, column-oriented, object, blob and other databases and storage solutions · Experience with building services from scratch and a results oriented mentality · Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication
