The Route 53 Health checking team (aka “The Team of Resilience”) develops products which help our customers build a highly available service with fault detection and recovery by leveraging Route 53 DNS. The Route 53 Health Checking service is responsible for handling automated fault detection and failover for some of the most critical services on the planet today, such as S3, DynamoDB, RDS, ELB and thousands of external customers. We have a range of initiatives on the team, from performance optimization to new product development, and we are actively hiring software engineers. As a member of the team, you will work with a group of talented, mission-focused colleagues to propose ideas and to design, build, and evolve production AWS systems. · At minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field · 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience · Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java or C++, including object-oriented design · 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems· Proficiency with multiple programming/scripting languages. · Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project. · Strong distributed systems and web services
