Microsoft’s Consumer Marketing Organization (CMO) Social Marketing team is revolutionizing the art of storytelling in the age of AI. We are seeking a highly organized, business driven, and operational minded creator partnership leader that embodies innovation and a deep passion for insights and quality execution. As Senior Video Editor, you will work closely with our world-class producers, strategists, and channel leads to bring ideas to life, refine pacing, and elevate the creative standard across every video. This role is ideal for an editor who understands that editing is storytelling and who is excited to push beyond technical execution into creative problem solving. You’ll be part of a team that treats YouTube as a strategic channel, building long-form content systems designed to grow audiences and deliver measurable results over time. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑moving environments, brings deep storytelling through longform video experience, and is passionate about how Microsoft tells stories across social.

Responsibilities

Edit high-performing long-form YouTube content for our brands across established and emerging channelsAssemble rough cuts and refine them into polished, final editsExecute pacing decisions that prioritize clarity, retention, and storytellingCollaborate with producers and strategists to interpret creative briefs and bring concepts to lifeImplement notes quickly and accurately across multiple feedback roundsManage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlinesMaintain consistency across episodes, formats, and recurring content seriesEnsure assets, timelines, and exports follow consistent internal standardsSupport the development of repeatable editing systems that enable channel scaleStreamline editing processes and workflows to ensure projects stay on track and deadlines are met

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

4+ years experience in professional production environment (e.g., lighting, shooting, audio recording, web production, writing), post-production environment, or broadcasting (e.g., local news)OR equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications:

5+ years of professional editing experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling craft. YouTube experience preferredDeep proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or comparable editing softwareSolid understanding of YouTube pacing, structure, retention tactics, and platform best practicesExperience editing educational, narrative, branded, or documentary-style contentExperience editing long-form content (YouTube experience strongly preferred)Understanding of pacing, retention, and storytelling structureComfort working in fast-paced environments with competing client priorities and tight timelinesCollaborative mindset and ability to communicate clearly with producers and teamsSolid attention to detail and file organization skillsAbility to take feedback constructively and iterate quicklyPassion for YouTube and curiosity about what makes content perform

Video Production IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800.00 - $234,700.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200.00 - $261,000.00 per year.
