Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) delivers the global datacenter infrastructure that supports all of Microsoft’s Commercial Cloud services AI product offerings. As a Technical Program Manager on the Technology and Region Expansion Team you analyze data from across the company to understand customer demand and supply alignments across our regions, and coordinate with different functional team members to develop strategies to support customer growth.

Your work across the company supports the ongoing health of our regions, as they expand, to exceed customer expectations in delivering all of Microsoft’s cloud and AI solutions. Your pivotal role encompasses the refinement of our region strategies and communicating them across Microsoft so our customers can continue to grow on our platform.

Forge and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders and partners across the CO+I organization, Azure Core Compute Capacity Teams as well as Business Planning, Azure Marketing and in some cases, Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) 

Leverage your business acumen and technical expertise to bolster ongoing customer engagement (internal and external) guaranteeing that our region strategy resonates with customer expectations and that all stakeholders understand the risk of non-performance

Exercise relentless curiosity to uncover and implement process enhancements, thereby fortifying our governance frameworks as we ambitiously expand our cloud footprint amidst the dynamic landscapes of commercial and AI growth

Responsibilities

Collaboration: Strengthens inter-org relationships within CO+I and with key stakeholders, promoting a unified approach to region expansion that embodies our One Microsoft ethos   Critical Thinking: Analyzes and asks insightful questions across the multiple teams that have inputs into capacity, understanding both internal and external growth assumptions and challenge assumptions/inputs that don’t align Process Enhancement: Utilizes insights from engagements and root cause analyses to refine and automate processes, ensuring adherence to our high standards and driving ongoing enhancements Long-Term Planning: Champions long-term regional health initiatives through application of principles, focusing on sustained customer success, and operational excellence Stakeholder Management: Aligns internal and external stakeholders with region strategies through clear and actionable next steps

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).1+ year(s) technical product/service/project, software development or software engineering experience  1+ year(s) experience working with cross-team stakeholders in a matrixed organization

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
