Description

Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (Level 63) on the Bing Places Data team, you will lead complex technical programs supporting Microsoft's geospatial services, including Bing Maps, Local Search, and Copilot. This position requires both strong technical knowledge and program management skills to deliver solutions that meet business and customer needs. As a Senior TPM, you will:

Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale programs, ensuring clarity in scope, timelines, and success metrics.

Influence product strategy by partnering with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to define priorities and technical feasibility.

Lead cross-functional collaboration, fostering alignment across diverse teams and managing dependencies in ambiguous environments.

Apply data-driven insights to measure program performance, identify risks, and implement continuous improvements.

Champion customer-centric solutions, ensuring technical programs deliver measurable value and meet security, compliance, and quality standards.

This role requires excellent communication skills, technical depth to align diverse stakeholders, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving results at scale.

Responsibilities

Program Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans (scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables) in collaboration with Engineering and Product teams to ensure timely execution and delivery. Stakeholder Management: Act as a point of contact for the Bing Places Data team, for other internal and business stakeholders, aligning technical requirements and roadmaps with business objectives and driving clarity in ambiguous environments. Data-Driven Execution: Use telemetry to track success, spot areas for improvement, and optimize processes. Product Influence: Think strategically to shape product offerings and engineering plans, by collaborating with Dev, Product, and Design teams, leveraging customer insights and technical feasibility to guide the groups' decisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.Experience in modern AI-driven software development workflows including agentic coding.Experience with modern open-source big-data systems like Spark, Apache Iceberg, and Apache Airflow. Experience building AI models, products, grounding, and tooling.Experience creating geospatial and mapping products. Experience creating web search products.Understanding of engineering principles, security principles, and the software development lifecycle, especially in modern AI-driven software workflows.Ability to drive technical feasibility discussions.Proven ability to lead programs in ambiguous environments.Expertise in risk mitigation, governance, and stakeholder alignment.Exceptional ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.#MicrosoftAI

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
