Description

The Azure High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence (HPC & AI) compute platform team defines and delivers the hardware roadmap, software, and services that enable our users to run technical computing workloads in Azure – extreme scale AI training and inference including large language models, traditional HPC modelling and simulations, remote visualization, and immersive gaming experiences. We are responsible for providing Azure customers with supercomputer-class capabilities to accelerate their research, drive competitive differentiation, and finding answers to some of the most difficult questions of science and industry.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with expertise in AI who has a proven track record working with complex and distributed computer systems serving the needs of mission critical customers. This role requires a candidate with an ability to articulate a vision, inspire and get key stakeholder buy-in and delivery, model Microsoft values and lead cross-organization teams to program success.

Responsible for defining clear product requirements that are valuable to engineering teamsA self-starter with proven track record of managing complex program/project to successful completion, working across a large set of cross-functional stakeholders.Driving timely feature execution and delivery of complete customer scenarios/use cases.Work with leadership, customers, business partners and engineering group to drive the long term roadmap direction for individual areas and provide regular and concise updates to stakeholdersPartner strongly with a wide array of other internal and external stakeholders such as Engineering, Business Planning, external partners.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years’ experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Demonstrated track record of delivering infrastructure projects/programs on time and under budget.Excellent organizational skills including calendar, email, and time management.1+ years’ experience with Azure Hosting or Infrastructure background and public cloud platforms.Other Qualifications:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.Deep knowledge of leading AI & machine learning computing environments and technologies employed by customers including CPUs, FPGAs, ASICS, memory, RDMA, high-speed interconnects like InfiniBand, deep learning & data mining common frameworks and techniques, and multiple types of distributed computing systems.Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
