We in Azure Capacity Experience Platform build systems that track those clouds and inform Capacity Planning, Management, and optimization systems including support and integration between Sovereign and public clouds. It is critical that we deliver the innovation and scale to be the cloud platform of choice for all customers, the home to Microsoft’s own services and partnerships, while continuing to optimize our operating costs.

As a Technical Program Manager 2 working on Azure Capacity Management and Automation Systems, you drive the design and creation of the next generation of our capacity models, across resources and workloads. You will partner with all Azure teams and the customer to inform and automate just in time planning, capacity gap detection and mitigation, optimization, and approach to planning for each next innovation iteration in hardware and software architecture. This opportunity will allow you to know how the cloud is put together from electrons to servers. You will learn what signals to track to understand customer success, what are needed to inform planning decisions and how to architect connected systems and their business processes cross divisions.

You will work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.You’ll define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams and with the Sovereign customer and their operators.With minimal supervision, you will help deliver on roadmap for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and partnering with other departments to collect performance metrics. You’ll also contribute to customer support and participate in direct customer engagements.Other

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Citizenship & citizenship verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).1+ years of experience in distributed systems, virtualization, cloud technologies and complex supply chains.Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
