Description

As a Technical Program Manager on the Cloud Interconnection & Acquisitions (CI&A) Team you will contribute to building a world-class network infrastructure by working at a Program Management level with Metro Dark Fiber, Long-Haul Fiber, subsea, and Lit Wave sourcing and delivery teams.



Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Technical Program Manager in CO+I, you will perform a key role in supporting the delivery of the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%. Leads teams to partner with others including CI&A, Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA) and Azure, building detailed project plans, ensuring proper resource alignment, tracking of critical path tasks and projects and ensuring communications across all team as well as providing Executive level status reportingCollaborates and coordinates across organizations to ensure alignment on work activities including tradeoffs, adjustments, and improvements as feasible.Works with others to establish and monitor processes and helps hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Helps track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Makes adjustments or course corrections when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.Leads teams to partner across the organization to capture performance metric requirements (e.g., Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] such as usage, quality, speed, and cost), to build out dashboards and reportsEnsure risks are captured, communicated, documented and remediate as appropriate.Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.2+ years of experience leading technical programs in a Network Infrastructure based Cloud environment.2+ years of Program Management experience with Metro Dark Fiber, Long-Haul Fiber, subsea, OR Lit Wave sourcing and delivery teams OR related networking fields

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
