We are hiring a Principal Service Engineering Manager to lead the MSD M365 MultiTenant US engineering team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping how we operate, secure, and continuously improve Microsoft 365 multitenant services at scale.
In this role, you will lead and grow a team of service engineers, define technical priorities, and drive operational excellence across complex, business-critical services. You will partner closely with the India MultiTenant team, Security team, product engineering teams, and leaders across MSD to deliver secure, compliant, and reliable service operations for Microsoft 365 customers.
We are looking for a collaborative engineering leader who brings effective people leadership, sound technical judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to influence across teams. This is an opportunity to lead meaningful work at the heart of Microsoft 365, build strong cross-org partnerships, and help set the bar for secure and reliable service operations.
This position is based at the Redmond campus with 3 days per week work in the office and 2 days per week work from home. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities
You will lead and grow the MSD MultiTenant US engineering team: hire, develop, calibrate, and retain engineering and program management talent.You will own technical direction and delivery across the MSD M365 MultiTenant program, including M365 administration, AI administration, tenant onboarding, and operational tooling.You will partner with the India MultiTenant lead to operate as one global team with consistent engineering standards.You will represent MSD MultiTenant to M365 partner teams, MSD leadership, and other partner orgs; influence cross-org roadmaps.You will drive engineering excellence: design reviews, live site posture, telemetry, and incident response practices.You will own people manager rhythms: 1:1s, growth planning, performance management, and team health.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controlsOR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of service engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.Deep experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and large scale service operations.Track record of building and leading high performing engineering teams.Demonstrated ability to set technical direction across multiple workstreams and partner across an engineering org.Experience leading engineering for multitenant SaaS, M365, or large enterprise IT environments.Background in security, compliance, or operational tooling at service scale.Experience leading globally distributed teams.Familiarity with A365 administration and M365 AI administration (Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio) at scale.#MSD

Service Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800.00 - $274,800.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000.00 - $304,200.00 per year.
