We are looking for an experienced product manager who can navigate the complexity of a diverse model portfolio on Azure. As a Principal Product Manager, you will need to prioritize requirements and drive investments to make Azure a great platform for hosting Generative AI models. You will need to figure out the right business and commerce models for all stakeholders involved. Someone who has demonstrated strong customer obsession, and the ability to create clarity in highly ambiguous situations. Someone who can challenge assumptions and create consensus for a product path to help us become the best LLM platform in the world. Someone who can represent the public face of Generative AI at Microsoft across the industry. You will own and run cross-functional programs and lead customer and internal stakeholder relationships across feature and product teams. You are front-and-center with the world’s leading brands representing the AI platform core engineering team in support of their digital journey, empowering them to accelerate their value and achieve more.

The role involves collaborating closely with key customers, partners, and feature teams to solve complex platform problems at scale. Responsibilities will include: 

Navigate the complexity of a diverse model portfolio on Azure, prioritizing investments to make Azure a great platform for hosting Generative AI models.Engage with key customers and partners to understand their needs and challenges and provide feedback and guidance on best practices and solutions Drive product requirements definition, product planning and product design (including writing PRDs) of new features and enhancements Collaborate with key roles including core team of engineers, applied researchers, and others to deliver full Microsoft value to customers  Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering, research, marketing, sales and support Anticipate, identify, and mitigate blockers to customer success goals  Share actionable insight, learnings, feedback to drive continuous improvementEmbody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.5+ years of experience designing and shipping complex products for developers, ML professionals, or similar 3+ years of experience with distributed platform ecosystem (multi-tenant / real-time processing, batch computing etc.)

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.Azure cloud platform experience preferred Prior hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) such as OpenAI and others, Azure AI, Azure ML or their equivalent is highly preferred  Customer focus and a deep commitment to delivering products that create customer value and delightful experiences  Effective communication skills with a broad range of audiences and ability to influence without authority  Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team. Outstanding problem solving and conflict-resolution skills across a set of technical, product, and business challenges  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines. Experience writing Python, particularly for GenAI apps using tools like Semantic Kernel, LangChain etc. Effective at driving complex multi-stakeholder processes and cross-team programs 

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
