Overview

The Microsoft Edge team—part of Microsoft AI/Copilot—is building the best browser for business, and we’re looking for engineers who want to shape the future of enterprise experiences.

This role focuses on service integration across Edge manageability, security, and productivity. You’ll help deliver differentiated, service-powered capabilities for commercial customers while integrating deeply with Microsoft 365 and other platform services. Your work will directly support both IT administrators and enterprise end users, improving manageability, security posture, and day-to-day productivity.

You’ll collaborate across multiple teams and work on cloud-scale, multi-tenant microservices using modern technologies, including Azure, Redis, Substrate, and internal service frameworks. This is a highly cross-functional role that offers solid opportunities to grow both technically and professionally.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate Microsoft Edge Management Service on a cloud scale.Build and integrate Microsoft Edge with mid-tier and backend cloud services across the Microsoft ecosystem.Collaborate with partner teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end cloud-powered enterprise experiences.Participate in the full feature lifecycle—from design and implementation to code reviews, testing, and deployment—within an agile engineering environment.Engage with customers to understand their needs, incorporate feedback, and strengthen product impact and customer connection.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Experience building and operating scalable, cloud-based services.Experience delivering end-to-end, full-stack solutions.Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.#MicrosoftAI #Edge #WebXT #WWE #MicrosoftAI #MicrosoftCopilot #microsoft

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
