Description

Overview

The Microsoft Digital Direct Sales team is one of the largest worldwide retailers of Microsoft products. In our quest to deliver the best customer experience, deepen engagement with our existing fans, and fuel our continued growth in EMEA and LATAM, we are seeking senior ecommerce merchandising talent to lead our site merchandising team in the region and to grow our online sales of Surface, Xbox and gaming hardware, Microsoft 365, digital content and more across our digital storefront at microsoft.com/store. Your role as the Regional Site Merchandising Lead includes driving the planning and execution of regionally and locally driven online programs and initiatives for Microsoft Store sites across EMEA and LATAM. You will lead the site merchandising function, an outsourced team and vendors, and you will be responsible for optimising the end to end online site experience, implementing visual merchandising, promotions, testing and optimisation, cross-selling, upselling and conversion in line with overall product and regional strategy. You will work in close partnership with EMEA site merchandisers, and with global, regional and local teams, to optimise selling and the execution of compelling marketing, storytelling, offers, updates and product launches. You will develop and share deep business and customer insights to inform Microsoft Store strategy and tactics and to guide buying page optimisation. A growing part of this role is building and adopting AI agents to take on routine merchandising work such as page building, everyday edits, publishing checks and always-on optimisation. You will decide where agents can help, set the rules and limits they work within, review what they produce, and reinvest the time saved in strategy, requirements and testing.

Responsibilities

Lead Site Marketing and Online Merchandising for Microsoft Store Sites

• Align with the Regional Digital Store Lead, sub-regional Digital Store Leads, the Regional Go-To-Market Lead, demand generation partners and regional category management on business goals and key priorities.

• Define the on-site marketing strategy and priorities, bring the store's business priorities and customer value proposition to life, simplify customer journeys and strengthen product storytelling. Create a full plan for visual merchandising across everything we sell online.

• Manage the outsourced and vendor team of site merchandisers, aligning their work to business targets and site performance measures, and shifting effort from manual production to higher value merchandising as agents take on routine tasks.

• Build and adopt AI agents for routine work across authoring, publishing checks, pricing, promotions, personalisation and testing. Set the rules and limits for what an agent can decide on its own and what needs a person to sign off

.• Review what the agents recommend, approve or reject it, check the analysis behind it before acting, and watch for fairness, bias, brand safety and compliance risk in automated decisions.

• Turn what customers and the business need into clear requirements, and write specs for new features such as page templates, navigation, wayfinding, financing, bundles and add-ons so engineers and agents can build them once for the whole catalogue rather than product by product.

• Drive growth against key web performance measures such as conversion rate, average order value and attach, to meet unit, revenue and contribution margin targets and customer satisfaction goals.

• Contribute to experimentation and personalisation strategy, capability development and successful rollout together with EMEA and global stakeholders.

• Build strong cross-functional engagement and priority alignment with the Regional Production Operations team. Find and put in place process improvements that increase efficiency across campaigns, promotions, product launches, lifecycle management and sales optimisation.

• Provide input to online marketing so that store campaigns, offers and the product roadmap stay consistent across marketing channels and online.

• Partner with local and corporate category and marketing teams to drive the online marketing roadmap and develop deep business and customer insight.

• Provide input on global features, capability and platform improvements with the wider Site Merchandising team, Planning and Engineering. Drive improvements to tools, processes and ways of working with key stakeholders, including Production Operations and Operations Program Management.

• Adapt the team's priorities, structure and ways of working as business needs, tooling and organising principles change, and bring the team with you through those changes. Drive with analytics, deliver insights and upside • Use a data-driven approach to merchandising to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

• Agree one clear measure for each stage of the customer journey, covering visits, add-to-cart, sales, order value and attach, plus a view of the full journey, so results can be compared across markets and added up for leaders.

• Drive EMEA and LATAM site merchandising reporting through the rhythm of business, including WBRs, MBRs and newsletters.

• Build a culture and practice of testing and optimisation to drive gains in performance. Run sound A/B tests using self-serve testing and the AI optimisation engine, and hold the line on good test practice when an agent suggests a change.

• Use data, insights and Voice of Customer feedback to improve product value proposition messaging and make products easier to find, including for AI assistants and search engines.

• Deliver market insight to Microsoft Store stakeholders and leadership to help shape global online strategy.

• Share best practice and key learning with worldwide site merchandising peers and business partners, including what is working with agents and what is not.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role

• Proven thought leadership and results in ecommerce, particularly in a site merchandising role, for consumer, very small business and small and midsize business products and services over the past 10 or more years. • A deep understanding of digital and ecommerce marketing and sales, both current and emerging, with the ability to turn it into programmes that ship.

• Hands-on experience directing AI tools or agents at work: setting limits, reviewing output, and judging when to accept, adjust or reject a recommendation. Good judgement on responsible AI, covering fairness, bias, transparency and compliance.

• Comfort with automated authoring and an AI optimisation engine, and the ability to work directly in an authoring tool such as AEM to make quick updates yourself.

• A track record of writing clear requirements and specs, and of owning a product plan rather than a queue of page requests.

• Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders in market and corporate teams to secure support for Microsoft Store initiatives, promotions and marketing plans.

• Ability to manage relationships with peers worldwide to make use of campaign activity from other countries, and to drive global adoption of marketing and merchandising guidance.

• Strong numbers skills, with experience of web analytics, sales data and analysis. Confident with tools such as Adobe Analytics, Contentsquare and Power BI.

• Experience creating clear, well-structured product data that machines can read, and working knowledge of search and answer engine optimisation.

• Comfortable with change and able to adjust priorities, plans and ways of working as business needs shift, including reshaping the team's work as new tools and organising models come in.

• Excellent communication skills, tailored to the audience and the context.

• Very strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage several timelines and sets of priorities.

• An entrepreneurial spirit that is passionate about building businesses in a fast-paced environment, while changing the way customers see our brand and our products.

• A character that exemplifies Microsoft values including integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, constructive self-criticism, continual self-improvement and mutual respect.

• Bachelor's or master's degree.
