Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. We are responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Within CO+I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for strategic development and execution of engineering, supply chain, construction, commissioning, and fit out that can meet the growth of the Microsoft Cloud Datacenters and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter builds and lease projects and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill the critical role of Amers EPC Leader who can oversee, manage, and drive safe delivery of datacenter builds and lease in Americas.

The Sr. Director, Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives, is responsible for leading the EPC Strategic Roadmap, EPC operational excellence, Learning, Executive Office Management, Suppliers’/Partners Assurance, Communication Plan, and Workforce Planning ensuring full alignment with the overall EPC functional guidelines as well as company's overall business goals.

Develop and manage the development of the EPC strategic initiatives roadmapEstablish and manage intake projects, assess, analyze, and assign to the respective EPC functional pillar for deploymentDevelop a rhythm of business for Major Suppliers’ / Partner for the EPC Executive office including briefing and quality assurance plan.Lead the EPC workforce planning and alignment with the talent acquisition and talent planningManage and oversee the EPC learning programManage the overall EPC governanceOversees and administrates the EPC Key Result Metrics.

Execution

Partner with Global EPC functions to ensure operationalization of multi-year strategies for mature business, identifies opportunities to meet agility requirements, and enables business growth.Full understanding of project execution strategyplanning and execution backgroundFull understanding of the EPC industry.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Oversees and develops business groups for optimal cross-functional stakeholder support and business assurance, and broadly fosters internal and external partnerships to align and negotiate strategic decisions and produce deliverables.Drives consensus in the goals and success criteria with stakeholders both internal and external to Microsoft, shares thought leadership and socializes best practices related to negotiation and collaboration to enable teams to execute negotiations with consistent success.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 50%.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.5+ years people management experience.Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods.Experienced in the EPC industry and technology

Technical Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
