OverviewMicrosoft is at a defining moment as AI and Copilot reshape how people experience technology. The Senior Brand Strategy Manager is a hands-on brand strategist responsible for leading and delivering brand strategy across defined Microsoft and Copilot initiatives, audiences, or product areas.
This role connects culture, consumers, and product through clear, insight-driven strategy, ensuring brand intent translates into real decisions across campaigns, product experiences, and go-to-market efforts. You will partner closely with Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Microsoft AI (MAI), Media, Engineering, Campaigns, Research, and Brand teams to drive clarity, alignment, and momentum.
The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can independently lead complex workstreams, influence cross‑functional partners, and contribute to the quality and consistency of brand thinking across the organization.
Responsibilities
Brand & Portfolio Strategy
Lead brand strategy for defined Microsoft and Copilot initiatives, audiences, or product areasTranslate enterprise brand direction into actionable strategies that guide campaigns, launches, and experiencesPartner closely with the GM of Brand Strategy to ensure high-level brand strategy and storytelling are reflected consistently in assigned workstreamsContribute to the evolution of Microsoft and Copilot brand thinking through insights, frameworks, and strategic points of viewCampaign & Go To Market Strategy
Lead brand and campaign strategy development for specific go to market effortsAuthor strategic and creative briefs for internal teams and agency partnersGuide teams in connecting human needs, product value propositions, and storytelling platformsEnsure brand strategy is carried through from early concept to in-market executionCross-Functional Partnership
Serve as a trusted brand strategy partner to cross-functional teams within assigned scopeCollaborate with Research & Insights to ground strategy in data, segmentation, and audience understandingInfluence product and go to market decisions by bringing a strong, clear brand point of view to the table Measurement & Brand Stewardship
Use brand performance, perception, and testing data to evaluate and refine strategyIdentify opportunities to strengthen brand clarity and consistency across touchpointsAct as a steward of the Microsoft and Copilot brands within owned initiatives, ensuring quality and alignment in executionWhat Success Looks Like

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
6+ years’ work experience at a branding agency or with product marketing, brand building, and/or strategy development OR equivalent experience.Additional or preferred qualifications
Master’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field OR equivalent experience.6+ years’ creative strategy experience, which could include brief writing and/or managing strategy on the corporate or agency side.6+ years’ experience managing projects (e.g., internal stakeholder management, timelines, prioritization, road mapping).
Brand IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
