Description
Own end-to-end program charters, multi-quarter phasing, OKR structuring and reporting, and technical dependencies across data engineering, software engineering, product management, and business intelligence. Drive proactive risk governance across live grant pipelines, overseeing zero-downtime staged program transitions across Google.org global pillars, shadow testing, and rollback checkpoints to protect payment velocity. Lead downstream organizational change management, including product roadshows, team trainings, and operational playbooks to modernize data management infrastructure. Apply advanced AI/ML governance and probabilistic risk management to develop workflow automation and oversee technical solutions that impact Google.org programs at a global scale, using responsible AI compliance guardrails. Provide proactive program leadership and clarify complex technical requirements across stakeholder and partner cross-functional teams using deep technical domain knowledge across data systems and infrastructure.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Google.org Tech for Social Impact (TSI) team works to accelerate sustained social impact through technology. We do this by supporting Google.org and the wider ecosystem of nonprofits and civic entities through data infrastructure, data visualization tools, and products that help them accomplish their missions.
The TSI team leads the work to unify Google.org’s data and operational workflows into a single, trusted source of truth across global giving. By building a harmonious data repository, integrating partner records and operational CRM workflows, and powering AI-enabled business intelligence and workflow automations, we eliminate administrative friction and enable both data-driven human decision-making and safe, reliable AI autonomy across our philanthropic portfolio.
In this role, you will orchestrate the execution and organizational adoption Google.org’s Unified Data Ecosystem. You will partner closely with Data and Software Engineers, apply technical judgment to evaluate engineering scope, sign off on technical designs, and align cross-team dependencies across data repositories.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience in program management.
Experience with data infrastructure, data governance, and data analytics. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
Preferred qualifications: 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Expertise in change management, leading trainings, playbooks, and adoption workflows that transition off legacy trackers without disrupting continuity or payment velocity. Strong technical judgment working alongside data and software engineers to evaluate technical designs, ETL pipeline dependencies, and zero-downtime data migration strategies. AI fluency and AI/ML concepts, including AI/ML Data governance and strategy, responsible and safe AI, and probabilistic risk management, to govern human-in-the-loop adjudication and automated compliance. A passion for social impact and philanthropy, with advanced domain knowledge of operations, compliance, and cross-functional data ecosystems.
