Description
Lead technical direction for Storage Platform Engineering, focusing on GDC AI storage, features, and management within the GDC ecosystem. Define, measure, and optimize storage performance to meet stringent IOPS, throughput, and latency requirements using tools like fio for comprehensive benchmarking. Build and enhance observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation capabilities to ensure high availability and smooth operation of file and block storage components. Implement secure, isolated storage environments for multiple tenants using ONTAP Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and Storage Grid. Enhance the storage architecture to support AI/ML workloads and collaborate with partner teams to ensure customers can run their AI solutions on GDC.Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $262000 - $364000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. Experience in cloud storage and the overall public cloud ecosystem including customer requirements, market trends, and engaged positioning. Experience designing software architecture for applications, including AI/ML systems. Experience in technical leadership.Preferred qualifications: Experience leading technical projects across functional areas in compute or storage. Experience working with cloud platforms. Experience working with Kubernetes or container orchestration frameworks. Experience programming in Go. Experience with systematic performance benchmarking and tuning. Experience with distributed storage systems.
