We are the Cloud Memorystore team. Our mission is to provide high-performance, highly available cache-as-a-service for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers. Developers who need to improve application performance rely on our high-throughput, low-latency in-memory data for persistent backends like SQL, etc. To achieve this, we own three fully managed services—Valkey, Redis, and Memcached—built on Google’s scalable and secure infrastructure.

In this role, you will play a critical role in leading the development and own the long term technical roadmap, drive the architecture and design, and lead the team in implementing and delivering functionality to large customers with demanding workloads. You will also partner closely with Product Mangers to define product direction and priorities, and collaborate with a number of other GCP teams to drive alignment and integrations.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience programming in C++. 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with redis, memcached, or other caching or database systems.

Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Experience in building managed services, especially Caching, Proxy, Database or Storage.



Extended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience programming in C++. 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with redis, memcached, or other caching or database systems.
