Description
Write and test product or system development code.Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.

The BigQuery SQL Translation Service accelerates migrations to BigQuery by automatically converting SQL from over a dozen SQL performer databases into BigQuery Google SQL using the industry's leading semantic compiler engine and the latest in Gemini AI LLMs. We work closely with customers and partner teams across Google and enable significant business impact through our partnerships.
In this role, you will continuously enhance the SQL translation engine to improve ease of use and keep pace with the latest SQL advancements in BigQuery and in the broader database ecosystem. You will also extend our engine to leverage our semantic analysis capabilities for new use migration cases including lineage of SQL workloads, SQL query optimization and database workload validation.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms and software development in Java and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. 3 years of experience designing, building, or maintaining large-scale distributed systems. Experience with SQL and relational database concepts, including queries, database definition, or schema design. Experience with parsers and compiler construction.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience building or operating Google infrastructure. Deep expertise in database internals and diagnosing issues around storage, memory, performance and tuning.
Extended Qualifications
